| Aikijujutsu/Aikido Self Defense Academy (AASDA) was founded by Sensei Loomis in May 2001. AASDA is a member of the American Society of Combat Martial Artist. AASDA started in San Marcos Texas in the summer of 2001. AASDA has since moved to Austin Texas. Lessons are currently being held in Sensei Loomis private dojo. Addition Aikijujitsu classes are held in San Marcos by Sensei Orta and AustinTexas with Sensei Derdeyn. Aikijujutsu is a form of jujutsu, which emphasized using the attacker force against themselves. Aikijujutsu uses striking, throwing techniques grappling and joint locks. Rather then meeting force with force, timing and blending techniques are used to neutralize it. Aikido was developed by Morihei Ueshiba (Way of Harmonious Spirit) derived from Aikijujitsu. Judo means "gentle way" is a modern Japanese Martial Art and combat sport. It was developed by Jigoro Kano late in the nineteenth century. It was derived from Jujutsu and is a throwing, grappling and joint lock art. Modern Judo is practiced as a sport with competitions. Judo was first seen in the Olympics in 1932 when Kano and about 200 students gave a demonstration. Judo has since become an Olympic men's sport in 1964 and opened up for women in 1988. Judo competitions include collegiate, state, regional, and national championships. Governing body of Judo include the United States Judo Association, and the International Judo Federation AASDA students includes Texas Peace Offices, Federal Correction Officers, Security Officers, Firefighters/Paramedics, School teachers, Sr. Center. As well as Little Dragon Judo. AASDA students have successfully completed in Judo tournaments with little dragons students winning gold and adult students winning bronze medal in national championship.
